ABOUT PRODUCT
hitotose
In today’s urban environments, daily life is increasingly surrounded by artificial materials, leaving fewer opportunities to perceive the subtle shifts of the seasons—the changing landscapes and scents—through our five senses.
hitotose is a product line that uses materials whose colors change in response to temperature, creating moments in everyday life that draw attention to the gradual passage of the seasons and renew awareness of their presence.
Wall Clock / Table Clock
The natural forms of mountains can be seen as mirrors of the changing seasons. Our predecessors sensed subtle shifts in time through the evolving expressions of the landscape. These clocks invite such awareness into contemporary life, encouraging reflection not only on numerical time, but on the seasonal rhythms of the natural world.
In the wooden version, grain patterns shaped by Japan’s four seasons are highlighted through “uzukuri,” a traditional technique that brings the texture of the wood to the surface. In the aluminum version, contours inspired by mountainous topography are revealed by carving into the painted surface, expressing the undulating forms of mountain ridges.

secca inc.
secca is a collective of artisans and creators based in Kanazawa, a UNESCO Creative City. Through Japanese craftsmanship and the experiences it creates, the group seeks to envision what lies beyond tradition.
To achieve this, secca both honors tradition by inheriting its philosophies and techniques, while actively exploring uncharted methods and new possibilities of expression. Based on this approach, secca defines its pursuit of making as “KOGEI” — a form of craftsmanship that questions the essential value and meaning of things created by human hands through the act of making itself.
